The Darlington County Fire Department recently received life-saving devices from funds raised by Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
Larry Chandler, owner of the Firehouse Subs restaurant in Florence, made the presentation to the fire department.
They gave the funds to purchase hydraulic extraction tools and some related accessories, devices used by emergency services to extract or rescue individuals from the scene of an accident.
The donation ceremony was held on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at the fire department on N. Center Road.
“We appreciated the tremendous support our restaurant has received from the residents of Hartsville and Florence for our business, as well as the Public Safety Foundation,” said Larry Chandler, franchise owner of the Firehouse Subs, located at 2108 S. Irby St. in Florence.
These funds were raised by the restaurant’s customers.
