Chick-fil-A received the 2008 Business and Arts Partnership Award from Florence Regional Arts Alliance during Thursday’s Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce Fall Outlook Luncheon at Florence Civic Center.
Katherine N. Addison, Arts Alliance president and assistant vice president of BB&T, recognized Chick-fil-A and owner/operators David Pate and Mark Drummond for having “sponsored and supported arts and cultural events in the Florence community for more than a decade.”
Chick-fil-A has been a consistent supporter of Florence Museum through sponsorship of the Statewide Art Competition and the Pee Dee Regional Arts Competition. They also have been underwriters for Florence Little Theatre productions and sponsors of Florence Ballet Company productions.
Chick-fil-A also was cited for enabling Williams Middle School art students and their parents to participate in Art Picnic, a Florence Museum activity that gives students the opportunity to experience primary source art objects and authentic works of arts.
In addition to the financial support provided through sponsorship and underwriting, Chick-fil-A and its owner/operators have furnished product donation and support staffing for many community events, including exhibit openings of the Florence Museum and the Florence Museum’s Annual Oyster Roast.
The Business and Arts Partnership Award is awarded by Florence Regional Arts Alliance based on commitment to the arts as evidenced by project and/or operational support provided on a substantial and ongoing basis.

Previous recipients have included Shoney’s; BellSouth Mobility DCS; Centura; Park Inn International; Morning News; Nan Ya Plastics Corp. America; Dr. Sam H.
