Some good news has arrived for Florence residents looking for jobs.
The new Wal-Mart SuperCenter on Beltline Drive is slated to open sometime this fall.
Company leaders say that means between 250 and 300 jobs will be available—jobs that are much needed in the Pee Dee.
August's unemployment numbers show Florence County at 27th in the state.
Officials, though, say the numbers could get worse amidst the troubled economy.
The Employment Security Commission is not helping Wal-Mart with recruitment for the new jobs.
However, if you'd like to apply, you can visit a kiosk at any local Wal-Mart store.
