Hartsville, S.C. — Portrait artist Patricia Bell Hargrove of Asheville, N.C., received the 2008 Outstanding Young Alumni Award at Coker College’s homecoming this weekend. She was selected by the Coker College Alumni Association for her artistic talent and entrepreneurial skills.
Hargrove earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Coker College in 1986. She paints and sells oil, watercolor and pastel portraits from her studio in downtown Ashville and her website, www.patriciahargrove.com.
Known for capturing the inner personalities of her subjects, Hargrove’s portraits are found in homes, businesses and churches throughout the country. She has participated in numerous shows and competitions and was selected an “Editor’s Pick” by Watercolor Magic Magazine. Hargrove is a contributing artist at www.ashevillearts.com and a member of the Portrait Society of America, A Stroke of Genius Gallery of Portrait Artists, and the American Society of Portrait Artists.
