LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Crime in Hartsville must end

»  Comments | Post a Comment

I am one of many whose heart was torn out from the news of Mr. Hancock's atrocious, vile and evil murder this week. I use such strong words because this is exactly what has settled in OUR TOWN and what OUR TOWN is being forced to deal with.
Fail not to mention the brutal beatings our elderly are taking, leaving them hospitalized, scared and without hope that this evil will leave OUR TOWN. The numerous vehicles that are having the windows knocked out while being in town, the down town stores that are being vandalized, the many, many burglaries of homes, the fear of leaving your home to go the grocery store, get gas etc.
I could go on and on as each one of us can make a list of our own experiences and fears. This has got to stop, I'm in favor of public hanging, cutting fingers off or whatever it takes to stop the crimes and if it includes hanging the judges, lawyers, and mayors that let these unlawful, illicit, immoral offenders off then I say have at it because I want justice for these people that have suffered so so very much and I WANT MY TOWN BACK.
I am closing this letter as a mother of children that live here, a daughter of the elderly, a employee of a local manufacturer and most of all a concerned Hartsville citizen.
