Men charged in theft of 80-year-old's money, guns and car

Two Darlington men who police said broke into an 80-year-old woman’s house and stole her car, money and guns have been arrested, Darlington Police Capt. Danny Watson said.

Jarrett Anderson, 21, of 1825 Anderson Farm Road and James Ricky Jones Jr., 26, are charged in connection with the incident, Watson said.

It happened Sunday at a home on Columbian Street when two men broke into a home and took several items including money, guns and her car, Watson said.

They were arrested Sunday night by Florence County sheriff’s deputies who saw them in the stolen vehicle, Watson said.

Both suspects remain in custody at the Florence County Detention Center in Effingham awaiting a bond hearing.
