A Florence man was arrested Monday after investigators determined him to be a known graffiti artist who’s vandalized more than $5,000 in property, Florence Police Maj. Carlos Raines said.

Kevin Mclain Davis, 24, of 1627 Gregg Ave. is charged with malicious injury to a tree and/or house and/or trespassing upon real property valued at more than $5,000, Florence County Detention Center bookings reports show.

Someone caught the suspect spray painting the outside of a West Evans Street business on Nov. 15. Investigators later determined the suspect had vandalized 16 locations in Florence between July 1 and Nov. 15, Raines said.

Police said the suspect is known by many tags or signatures such as “Sin,” “Suno 1,” “MDA” and “Cost.”

Davis is the third person in about two weeks to be arrested for vandalism, Raines said.

Two 16-year-olds also were charged in connection with an act of vandalism at Florence’s new Veterans Park, he said.
