With the up and down economy, many people will definitely be looking forward to those Black Friday inserts that come in the newspaper Thanksgiving day.
Those putting the ads together, say the insert is quite large this year.
They say it's yet another sign that many people will be looking for a deal, and many stores will be reaching out to customers this holiday season.
"We're working our crews pretty much day and night right now. It all finishes up Thursday evening and then we start getting ready for christmas," said Morning News production director John Barlow.
This is one of the biggest weeks of the year when it comes to ad space and revenues, and with the current economy many businesses are taking full advantage of the Black Friday flyers.
Barlow described this year's insert as 3 pounds worth of advertisements and sale ads, and said that his production crews had to take extra measures to be able to fit the inserts into papers this year.
"We have a machine that can handle 18 inserts at one time, we've got close to 35 in this, so we have to make two passes on the machine to make this package and then we have to put them together by hand because it's too big to run in the machine any longer," said Barlow.
While production managers say they planned for the massive insert production, that doesn't stop the process from being a little frantic.
And with more businesses buying more spaces this year, it increases the load on everyone involved.
While the rush may cause moments of madness at the production site, workers say it's a win-win situation for everyone involved- the newspapers who get the revenues, the businesses who get the much needed exposure, and the consumers who are now, more than ever, looking for a deal this Friday.
Production managers say they'll have extra people out late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning, making sure they get all of the Black Friday inserts out, and the paper-boxes stuffed.
