Over on the Grand Strand, a local church and some Coastal Carolina students are making sure people aren't going hungry during the holidays.
Members of the New Nations Christian Church on Forestbrook Road hosted the event.
They received help from area high school and Coastal Carolina students.
In all, they handed out more than 100 turkeys, along with other food items to those in need.
Pastor LaMalik Sherman says the food is for anyone who is starving.
And, the CCU volunteers are glad they were able to help out those in need.
Pastor Sherman says, "It makes you feel you're doing the right things when you see the smiles on the faces, and you see people really appreciating what it means to have enough food, what it means to have enough food and clothing on a great occasion as Thanksgiving."
