Police are looking for two men in connection with a home invasion, Florence Police Maj. Carlos Raines said.
The crime happened about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at a residence on Glenmore Way. A woman was walking into her house with groceries when she was grabbed from behind by a man wearing gloves, a dark blue shirt and a blue mask, Raines said.
The suspect covered her eyes and mouth, forced her onto the floor, held a knife to her throat and told her to shut up or he would kill her. The woman’s son came into the room and another male suspect, who was wearing a gray sports coat and skeleton Halloween mask, ran up to the boy, pushed a hammer in his face and dragged him into the laundry room, Raines said.
Both suspects took the jewelry the woman was wearing, along with her purse, a computer and a small amount of cash. The suspects then forced the woman and her son into the master bathroom and left, Raines said. The victims called 911 and told responding officers they believed the two suspects were of Asian descent.
While the woman’s son suffered bruises to his face, neither he nor his mother were hospitalized as a result of the crime, Raines said.
