The National Weather Service office in Wilmington says the storm that destroyed a mobile home and severely damaged at least 2 homes in Dillon County early Saturday morning was an EF-2 tornado on the enhanced Fujita scale. NWS estimates the tornado produced winds in the 110 to 120 mph range. It caused a path of damage that totalled 1.5 miles in length and 40 yards wide.

In its tour of storm damage Sunday, the NWS survey team also determined that it was an EF-0 tornado that caused damage to at least one mobile home and other structures along Highway 20 in northern Robeson County. This tornado touched down around 1:35 a.m. before dissipating just north of Britt Road and did not cause any injuries.
