The 4th Annual Red Fox Oyster Roast and Shrimp Fest held on Saturday, Oct. 25, was a great success because of the many businesses and individuals who gave us their support. It is important that we, the HHS athletic staff and athletes, express our sincere thank you to the many individuals and businesses that supported this event.
First to our sponsors, First Citizens, Sonoco Products Co., Tena Rabon at Allstate Insurance, Attorney Paul Cannarella, The Markette, John Newsome GM Superstore, Benchmark Homes (Bud Gandy) and Eldon Henderson at Henderson’s Ace Hardware. This event would not have gotten off the ground without your support.
Libby Schmidt of J. Michael’s Restaurant and Ed Saleeby, Jr. both played a huge role in the success of our event. I would also like to thank all the cooks at the event namely, Charles Holcombe, Buzz Shaw, Keith Sanders, Ronnie Grant, Alan Holloman, Mitchell and Lee Gainey, Harry King, Charlie, Tony and Tina Gainey, Jacob and Courtney Shumate, Vicki and Jay Hudson, Lewis Brown and Susan Moore.
The great music was provided by Billy Scott and the Prophets and Dan E. Lockemy. Hartsville Lumber and Barns provided the flat bed for the band. Many people were able to dance on the dance floor which was provided by The Shag Club.
And thanks to Eddie Moore, Alex Stanton and Tommy Woodham for putting the floor together for the event. Many of our Hartsville restaurants and businesses provided food for the event — Hartsville Fish Market, Pam’s Restaurant, the Sonic and Ron Howard of Pepsi.
This has been a great event for the past four years and has provided much needed financial assistance to our HHS athletes. I would also like to thank all of you who purchased a ticket and attended the event. Thank you for your support, and I look forward to seeing you at other HHS fundraising events and in the stands for our athletes.
