Manner of Kingstree woman's death unclear

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Kingstree authorities still don’t know what caused of death of a woman whose body was found underneath some bushes near an apartment complex Tuesday morning.

Dolly Ann Huggins, 53, of 65 Dove St. was pronounced dead at the scene, Williamsburg County Coroner Harrison McKnight said earlier.

Invesitgators have received preliminary autopsy results from the Medical University of South Carolina, but those results didn’t reveal the manner of Huggins’ death, Kingstree Police Chief Robert Ford said. The results, however, didn’t provide any evidence of foul play, such as stab and gunshot wounds.

Invesitgators are now awaiting the full autopsy report, Ford said.

Huggins was last seen alive at King’s Court Apartments about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday by a tenant who was looking out of a window, McKnight said.
That tenant later told authorities she was standing with another person at that time, he said.

Huggins’ body was discovered about 7 a.m. Tuesday.
