Police call Kingstree woman's death suspicious

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Investigators are calling a woman’s death suspicious after her body was found beneath some bushes near an apartment complex, Kingstree Police Chief Robert Ford said.

Dolly Ann Huggins, 53, of 65 Dove St. was pronounced dead at the scene, Williamsburg County Coroner Harrison McKnight said.

A cause of death couldn’t be determined, so her body has been sent to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston for an autopsy, McKnight said.

Huggins was found about 7 a.m. at the King’s Court Apartment Complex on Reed Street by a tenant, Ford said.

There were no outward signs of trauma to her body, he said.

Huggins didn’t live in the apartment complex, Ford said.

She was last seen alive about 12:30 a.m. by a tenant who was looking out of a window. That tenant later told authorities she was standing with another person at that time, Ford said.
