The Florence mayoral candidates, Stephen Wukela and Rocky Pearce, spent the day Monday shaking a lot of hands.
Both Pearce and Wukela spent the last minutes before the big day, trying to reach every voter they could.
"We had the breakfast club this morning at 7:15, and we're gonna be going all day and it's been like that for months," said Wukela.
"We are out shaking hands, meeting new people, encouraging everybody to vote," said Rocky Pearce.
Both men were also very aware of the crowds and the attention, that the elections were drawing and the potential impact every vote could make on the future of Florence.
"We expect the largest turnout ever, there's been a lot of pre-voting, a lot of absentee voting, I expect people to have some long lines, so hopefully they'll be patient but it is important..one thing we've learned is every vote matters, one vote does make a difference," said Pearce.
"We're just encouraging people to get out and believe that it matters. If my race showed nothing else, it showed that the establishment can be overcome. If we all come together, everybody's vote matters, and these lines (at the polls) are a testament to the desire and ability of people to make a difference," said Wukela.
Whatever happens at the polls on Tuesday, both men say they're encouraged by the crowds, hoping for change and wanting the same outcome.
"We're hoping for and believe we'll have victory," said Wukela.
"Victory, obviously we are hoping for victory," said Pearce.
