FLORENCE (AP) _ Attorneys for the South Carolina teen accused of plotting to blow up his high school have asked a federal judge to require prosecutors to share information they might use against Ryan Schallenberger.

Defense attorney Michael Meetze argued in court documents filed Thursday that he needs any statements Schallenberger made after he was accused of threatening to blow up Chesterfield High School. Meetze also wants information on witnesses who may testify at trial and the results of mental evaluations.

Schallenberger faces three federal explosives charges. Prosecutors dropped a charge of attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction that could have sent Schallenberger to prison for life.

Schallenberger was arrested April 19 after his parents picked up a package addressed to him containing 20 pounds of ammonium nitrate.
