Mr. James Walter “Bobo” Marine Jr., of 324 Russell Road died on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at the Carolina Systems Health Care facility after an illness. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Hines Funeral Home Inc.
JAMES EMERSON COOPER JR.
Graveside services for James Emerson Cooper Jr., 82, widower of Naomi Estelle Lee Cooper, were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2008, in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. Cooper died on Tuesday, May 27. He was born in Columbia the son of the late James E. Cooper Sr. and Jennie Mae Adams Cooper. He was a veteran of the Korean War, a member of West Hartsville Baptist Church, retired from Sonoco Products Company, and a Member of the Old Timer’s Club.
Surviving are daughters, Marcia (Wayne) Clanton of Monroe, N.C., Jennie (Larry) Easterling of Hartsell, Ala.; son, James E. (Julie) Cooper III of Hartsville; sister, Dorothy Cooper Moore of Charleston; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; special friends, Christine Tolson, June Hyman, Joseph Elmore. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ione Cooper Miller, and granddaughter, Renee Clanton Hall.

LAVERGE P. POSTON
LAMAR — Laverge P. Poston, 86, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 29, in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home, Lamar with interment following at Elim United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Poston was born in Williamsburg County, daughter of the late Brooks and Signal Tanner Poston. She was married to the late William Harvey Poston. Mrs. Poston was a housewife and was devoted to God and her family. She was a member of Christian Pathway Church.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Ilene and Ronnie McCoy, Carol and Frank Watford, all of Lamar; grandchildren, Ronnie (Phyllis) McCoy, Tonya (Raymond) Jeffords, Rhonda (Jeryld) Stevens and Tony Westfall; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Miriam Richardson of Florence.
Mrs. Poston was preceded in death by a son, William Harvey Poston Jr.; brother, Edward Poston; and sister, Donnette Westfall.
