A Wednesday night fire in Conway causes major damage to multiple buildings in the Waccamaw Square shopping center.
The center is located off 501 across from the K-Mart in Conway.
Conway Fire Rescue officials say they got the call at 10:52 p.m.
Officials say the fire destroyed the outside of Burke's Outlet store as well as about four other stores.
Fire officials say Big Lots in the strip mall appears to not have been affected.
Fire officials say the other stores will be out of operation for a while.
Battalion Chief Arnold Spain with Conway Fire Rescue said, "The first report was in front of the outlet sign right there. In front of the outlet sign. That was the first initial report that we got. It spread. It ran east and west on the exterior of the building."
The section of US 501 in front of the center was shut down for about two hours so an additional water supply could be used.
Officials say the fire is under investigation.
