Credit union receives state, national awards

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Pee Dee Federal Credit Union recently was awarded first place in South Carolina for the 2007 Dora Maxwell Award and 2007 Louise Herring Award for its asset size.

The entries were then submitted to the Credit Union National Association for national competition, where Pee Dee Federal Credit Union placed second nationally for both.

The 2007 Dora Maxwell Award recognized the credit union’s efforts supporting the Manna House in Florence. Since 1987, the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award has honored credit unions for their charitable works in their communities. With the help of its members, the credit union raised more than $1,500 and several hundred pounds of food for the Manna House.

The 2007 Louise Herring Award recognized the credit union’s Credit Builder Loan Program. This program enables credit union members to build or repair their credit history. The Louise Herring Award for Philosophy in Action is given to a credit union demonstrating the internal application of credit union philosophy to help better financial matters and increase financial education for its members.
