Marlboro County School District has been awarded a $1,500 grant from the state Department of Education’s Office of Community and Parent Services to develop a program that would help improve student attendance.
The funds are provided as an incentive for all students to attain perfect attendance during the 2007-08 school year. Students will be recognized and awarded at their school’s honor roll celebration.
The awards will be given for the second, third and fourth grading periods.
Grading periods last 45 days.
The attendance clerk of each school will report the names of all students who earned perfect attendance for the grading period.
There will be at least one winner drawn at each of the 10 schools in the district. The winners each will receive a $25 gift card.
