An early morning crash involving a school bus killed one person Friday morning in Horry County. According the South Carolina Highway Patrol's website, the incident happened around 6:10 a.m. on Highway 90 and Millswamp Road, just north of Highway 22.
Todd Cartner with Horry County Fire and Rescue confirms one person from the other vehicle that collided with the school bus died at the scene. Seven students from the Horry County Alternative School were onboard the bus when it crashed. Three students and the bus driver were transported to Grand Strand Memorial Hospital. The other four students were taken to Conway Medical with minor injuries.
Trooper Sonny Collins with the South Carolina Highway Patrol says that a section of Highway 90 was shut down until about 10:30 a.m.
No word yet on the identity of the person who died in the crash.
