The biker traffic pattern is now in effect on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach.
This means you will only be able to go southbound from 29th Avenue North to 17th Avenue South.
The one-way pattern will be in effect from 2 p.m. until midnight Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
The two northbound lanes will be for emergency traffic only.
The bikers we spoke with say they don't think the change is a good idea and they don't understand the reasons behind it.
"I think it's bad because they're (motorcycles) air cooled, not water cooled, so they'll heat up, they're not made to sit in traffic and they make it even worse, so I think they shouldn't have it, I think they should leave it both ways." says one biker staying at a hotel on Ocean Boulevard.
Myrtle Beach police say a few years ago, they were mandated by a court to have the same traffic pattern in place on Ocean Boulevard for both the Harley-Davidson rally and the Memorial bike fest, they say the change also makes it easier for emergency vehicles to get through traffic.
Biker Jay Hellinger says "They (bikers) come down here and we spend money and then you know we have to re-route ourselves and stay in traffic and it's not worth it."
Ray Kulp, from Florence, says while the traffic on the boulevard may seem a lot more hectic, people are actually rolling pretty smoothly.
Kulp says bikers who complain about overheated engines are making too big of a deal out of the change in the traffic pattern.
"I think it's more discomfort for them, if they didn't want to come for bike week they should have stayed in their air conditioned car, right, it's hot down here so we know this is really nice weather, so let them complain, they'll be alright." says Kulp.
Police say all the lanes of traffic on Ocean Boulevard will re-open on Sunday.
