As the number of motorcycles increase on the roads on the Grand Strand, so do the number of law enforcement officers.
And as we head into what South Carolina troopers say is the first official weekend of the Harley-Davidson spring rally, there is no doubt from the rumbling sound on the highways and the crowds that the rally is in full swing.
And it’s not just the Harleys cruising up and down the roads that are filling up the highways.
The motorcycle enthusiasts rolling through Myrtle Beach say they look forward to coming to the spring Harley rally to see what's new in the world of motorcycles.
They also come to see the different motorcycles and to be seen on their motorcycles.
"We built it and we believe in it, but other than it's one of those things that it's long, it's sexy, it's everything you picture in a custom chopper." says a Myrtle Beach man who built his own motorcycle.
The owner of another custom bike says the frame came from a man who went out of business, so no one else will have one.
Plus, there's no fender, a fat tire, and a unique gas tank; all the things that get heads turning in his direction.
Motorcycle riders say no matter what design they have, color, shape, model, or type of mirror, they ride them because they look good, sound good, and make them feel good.
