Terry D. Davis was elected Tuesday by Mullins District 3 citizens to represent them on City Council.
According to the unofficial results released by the Marion County Voters Registration and Election Commission, of the 395 registered voters in the district, there were 107 who cast ballots. Of those, there was one fail safe vote and four absentees.
Davis defeated Issac M. Black 70-36. The special City Council District 3 election was conducted following the death of long-time public servant James Armstrong.
City Council District 6 was also recently vacated when Burn Shelley resigned his seat because of his health. The special election to elect his replacement will be on July 15.
Davis is a mother, grandmother and member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Mullins. This is her first bid to be elected to public office.
