Deputies charged a Hartsville man with aggravated assault, pointing and presenting a firearm, damage to property and disorderly conduct.
The Darlington Sheriff’s office said the incidents happened May 9th in the Hartsville area.
25 year-old Lee Edward Jackson is charged for his connection in both incidents.
The first incident happened on B Street, just outside of Hartsville.
That’s where deputies said a group of men approached a resident; at least one of the men attacked the victim and hit him in the head with a pistol.
Later that night a resident on Whippoorwill Road, just off of New Market Road, reported a group of men came to her house and one of the men pointed a pistol at her.
It was also reported that one of the men fired an assault rifle while driving down the road.
Deputies said both vehicles the group of men were in were located and seized for processing for evidence.
Hartsville Police assisted in this investigation. Deputies said more arrests are expected.
Investigators believe the cases could be gang-related and are part of an on-going problem of gang activity between groups of the city area and the area where the victim was attacked on B Street.
Such offenses if determined could result in violations of both state and federal gang and weapon laws.
