Marion County school officials will be welcoming a few new administrators for the 2008-09 school year.
In Marion School District 7, Tammy Martin will be the principal at Britton’s Neck Elementary School, Superintendent Everette Dean said, adding that the school is not expecting any other changes. Principal of the Creek Bridge Middle and High School is long-time administrator Burnie Bell.
The director of technology and communications will be retiring from Marion School District 2 district, Superintendent Nathaniel Miller said. The district will not advertise for a new director, but an assistant who has been working with Williams will assume Williams’ responsibilities, he said, adding that the district will hire a technician.
Another change in the district is that Mullins High School assistant principal Jean Allman is retiring, Miller said. The position has yet to be filled. Although there were rumors about the status of Mullins Early Childhood Center principal Judy Pace, she will be back at MECC this year, he said.
MSD2 curriculum coordinator Tim Felder will be the new principal at Marion Intermediate School in Marion School District 1, Marion School District 1 Superintendent Michael Lupo said.
“We’re real proud that he’s joining our team,” Lupo added. Darrell Jameson will fill the district office position of special and federal projects, Lupo said, adding that the position had been vacant for two years.
