Authorities are investigating the cause of an early morning blaze that destroyed a Dillon County nightclub.
Firefighters responded to the The Cage on U.S. 301 about 4:30 a.m. Monday and found flames coming through the roof, Dillon County Fire Station 4 Chief Joe Cribb said.
It took more than 30 firefighters about an hour to bring the fire under control, Cribb said.
No injuries were reported and no other buildings were damaged as a result of the blaze, he said.
Firefighters suspect the fire started in the ceiling of the building, but investigators from the State Law Enforcement Division and the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office are trying to determine the exact cause.
