A 12-year-old boy has died of injuries he suffered in a dirt bike accident, Marlboro County Coroner Tim Brown said.
Travon Lindsey died Saturday at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, Brown said.
The accident happened around 8 p.m. Thursday on Pineville School Church Road, about seven or eight miles outside of Bennettsville, the coroner said.
The boy had been staying with his grandmother on S.C. 38 North near Bennettsville, Brown said.
The coroner and Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the accident.
