A Kingstree teen was arrested Wednesday in connection with a purse-snatching, Kingstree Police Chief Robert Ford said.

Domonic Goodwin, 17, of 345 Scott St. is charged with strong-armed robbery and purse-snatching, Ford said.

Two women were walking on Lexington Avenue about 1 a.m. when they saw a man hiding in the bushes. The women ran, but the man chased them and took a bookbag from one of them, Ford said.

The victims gave police a description of the suspect, who was spotted a short time later in a car, Ford said. Police searched the car and found the bookbag and a ski mask the victims said was worn by their attacker.

Goodwin remains in custody at the Williamsburg County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
