The Main Street Café has opened with Rusty Anderson at the helm providing a new menu and is located at 131 Main Street.

The Lamar Florist and Gift Shop located at 111 Main Street has re-opened under new management, providing fresh flower arrangements and gift accents.

The town of Lamar has undergone a new facelift with several downtown development changes that support local commerce. The addition of these new enterprises in conjunction with the current operating businesses continues the family traditions that incorporate the commercial climate of the local area.

"The town is excited about new business and congratulates the owners for their entrepreneurial spirit. They will be a welcome addition to the town's current business atmosphere,” Lamar Mayor Bobby Hudson said in a press release.

Lamar Director of Development and Planning Victor Pizzurro was equally as excited. "The growth of these new businesses is a testament to the commercial development that the town of Lamar presently is experiencing,” he said. “We invite the general public to celebrate in this wonderful event."

Serving the area for over 70 years, the Greater Darlington Chamber of Commerce continues to support and enhance the growth, prosperity and development of business, industry and education in Darlington, Lamar and Society Hill.
