Police arrested Christopher Martin Wheeler, 20, of Spartanburg with criminal sexual conduct. According to a press release, the incident happened Sunday night at Moe’s restaurant in Conway. Police say the victim was a 15-year-old female.
She told police she was walking out of the restaurant when Wheeler pulled her back inside, unbuttoned her pants, and touched her inappropriately. Wheeler is suspended indefinitely from the men¹s track team pending the outcome of the legal charges brought against him. Wheeler¹s case will be referred to the campus judicial system as soon as the facts are known.
Wheeler received a $10,000 surety bond Tuesday morning and is ordered not to have contact with the victim.
According to Coastal Carolina University's website, Wheeler is a sociology major and on the track team at the school.
