Lake City Police are looking for a suspect who stole thousands of dollars worth of fuel from a local gas station, recently.
The incidents happened on June 14 around 7:30 p.m. and on June 16 at about 5:30 p.m. according to Lake City Police Captain Bobby Williams.
Williams said the suspect stole 420 gallons of diesel fuel, totaling $2,016 from Leroy's Service Station on South Ron McNair Boulevard.
Williams said employees discovered the fuel had been taken when a customer was unable to pump fuel from the tank.
Leroy Driggers, owner of the gas station said he may have to get a security system to prevent thefts like these from happening.
"Normally we don't have problems like this," Driggers said. "This is the first time this has happened, as far as I know."
At this time, no other information on the suspect or vehicle is available, Williams said.
Williams said anyone with information is asked to called the Lake City Police Department at (843) 374-5411.
