»  Comments | Post a Comment

You have a chance to have your voice heard and your signature read in the ongoing fight against cancer.

“The Fight Back Express”, The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network national bus tour urging people to join the fight rolls through the Palmetto state.

Monday evening the bus was at Broadway at the Beach.

It’s filled with thousands of signatures from people who are cancer survivors or know someone with the disease.

Volunteers said the purpose of the tour is to motivate lawmakers to do more in the fight against cancer when it comes to research and healthcare.

Volunteer Angela Kegler-McDowell said, "Everybody can get involved in that fight against cancer all they have to do is pick up the phone and call their legislator or write a letter, email, fax, just to let their legislator know whether they are survivors or not, we are all touched by cancer, we know somebody who has fought that fight or will fight that fight in the future."

The bus also made stops Monday in Columbia and McBee, all part of a five month, 48 state tour.
