Father's Day is on Sunday, but one local group is getting a head start on the celebration!
Saturday afternoon, A Father's Place, a program based in Conway that helps fathers overcome obstacles that might keep them from being effective in their children's lives, hosted a father's day celebration.
There were games, live entertainment, a dunk tank, vendors, guest speakers, and food at the free event.
Organizers said too often fathers are not celebrated for all their efforts.
"Men contribute so much to the lives of children, to girls, to boys, and it is so important to celebrate their model of manhood and just the fact that they're there, they're involved and that they want to be involved." said Wallace Evans. Jr., Executive Director of A Father’s Place.
Evans said the point of Saturday’s event was to celebrate the men in the community and the men who are part of a father's place.
