Patricia Lewis, director of the Therapeutic Behavior Services (TBS) for Florence County District 5, and her students have adopted the senior citizens who meet twice a week at the Community Meeting House on Hampton Street as their own.
On holidays and special occasions, Lewis and the students visit the seniors, where the students entertain with songs and other activities they have learned at the elementary school, where their center is located.
Lewis also collects day-old bread for the food stores. Some is given to the parents of the TBS students and the remainder goes to their adopted seniors.
