Ride Smart program kicks off Tuesday in Myrtle Beach

»  Comments | Post a Comment

As gas prices continue to climb, the number of motorcycles on the roadway will also continue to increase. That’s according to a press release issued by the South Carolina Department of Public Safety. They claim many people purchase motorcycles and have little or no experience.

The SCDPS will introduce its Ride Smart program aimed at helping bikers get the experience they need to avoid deadly collisions. The SC Highway Patrol, local law enforcement, and bikers will attend the announcement.

The Highway Patrol Motor Units will be on hand to demonstrate safe riding techniques and how to avoid mistakes made by inexperienced bikers.

The press conference is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
