Four sheriff's office races top the list of contests in this year's elections through the Pee Dee.
It’s likely the winner of the Democratic primary in Darlington County will be elected sheriff in November, while in Florence County, a former sheriff is running against his former protegee.
In Marion County, it appears the current sheriff will be challenged by a former member of the sheriff’s office, and in neighboring Dillon County, the longtime incumbent is facing opposition from a state Department of Natural Resources veteran.
