Some high paying jobs could be on the way to Myrtle Beach.
What once was supposed to be the site of the Myrtle Beach International Airport's west-side terminal, will now be made into a Commerce Park. It will be located just west of Market Common near Farrow Parkway. Horry county officials say the new project should bring in about 2,000 jobs to the area. They say most of the businesses will be related to aviation because of accessibility to the runway.
Horry County Chairperson, Liz Gilland, says, "We were left with a great piece of land without a purpose. It didn't take us long to decide the purpose needed to be to draw businesses in."
She says the Commerce Park is already being marketed Nationally and Internationally.
