A man has died after losing control of his motorcycle and striking a tree in Dillon County, according to S.C. Highway Patrol reports.
Willie Davis, 42, of Dillon died Sunday morning at a Dillon hospital, Dillon County Coroner Dan Grimsley said.
The accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, as Davis was traveling north on Secondary Road 23, highway patrol reports show.
Davis was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the highway patrol. State troopers say they think speed could have been a factor.
