A Charlotte, N.C., man died Thursday evening after a car crash in Marion County.
Wilson Fernando Gutierrez, 35, died at the scene, according to the Marion County Coroner’s Office.
Gutierrez was driving a Chevrolet Impala when he veered off the road, overcorrected and struck a utility pole on U.S. 501 near the Carolina Entertainment Complex shortly before 6 p.m., according to the S.C. Highway Patrol. He had been wearing his seat belt.
