Georgetown County authorities are investigating what they think is a shark bite.
It happened at around 2 p.m. Saturday, off Litchfield Beach in Georgetown County.
Authorities say the shark apparently bit 17-year-old Julianne Lunti of Columbia in knee-deep water.
Investigators say Lunti will likely need stitches.
Midway Fire Rescue spokesman Bob Beebe says no one saw the shark, but the marks left on the teen's foot are consistent with a
shark bite.
