Police have arrested a man, wanted in North Carolina for failing to register as a sex offender, in connection with an assault in Darlington, Darlington Police Capt. Danny Watson said.
Alfonzo Love, 56, is charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, Watson said.
The assault happened about 2 a.m. Wednesday at a residence on Abe Lincoln Road in Darlington. The suspect was there with a girl when his brother heard noise in his room and called police, Watson said.
Love remains in custody at the Darlington County Detention Center.
