Mayoral Candidate didn't show up to court

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The Atlantic Beach mayoral candidate charged with traffic violations didn't show up for her court date today.
When Retha Pierce didn't show, Judge Bradley Myers performed a *trial by absence* and found her guilty of reckless driving and using an improper turn signal.
She was arrested on Christmas night.
Pierce earlier claimed she was not guilty.
Now she has to pay $525 in fines or go to jail for 35 days.
Pierce was also charged with resisting arrest that night.
Her trial on that charge happens at a later date.
