Kimberly Dowd joins disabilities foundation

Kimberly L. Dowd of Florence recently has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors of Florence County Disabilities Foundation. Her term is for three years.

Dowd is the director of nurseries at Central United Methodist Church. She also is a member of Central United Methodist Church, Royall Elementary School APT and Delta Delta Delta National Women’s Fraternity. She earned her Master of Education in student personnel services from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science in justice studies from Arizona State University.

Florence County Disabilities Foundation is a private, nonprofit organization which provides volunteer and private financial support, as well as promotes the programs and services provided by Florence County Disabilities & Special Needs Board. The board serves more than 1,000 people with life-long disabilities including mental retardation, autism, spinal cord injuries and other related disabilities who reside throughout Florence County.
