Myrtle Beach police want you to know exactly where Wednesday night's traffic checkpoint will be set up: 21st Avenue North, between Robert Grissom Parkway and Oak Street, from 8-10 p.m.
"We put it out there, by our policy, to let the public know we're going to be out," said Capt. David Knipes with the Myrtle Beach Police Department. "So, there should be no questions asked. When you come out there, have your license, your registration, (and) your insurance information, because we're going to ask for it," he said.
Knipes said so many drivers may not be driving drunk tonight, but still may not have the proper forms of identification or the updated insurance coverage.
"We're not out there trying to make anybody's life miserable," Knipes said. "We don't want to give tickets. It would be a great world if we didn't have to write one ticket, if everybody obeyed the traffic laws," he said.
"We have other things we could be doing instead of looking for these types of things," he added.
