Many Eastern Carolinians will be un-trimming their Christmas trees during the coming weeks. For residents who have purchased a live tree for 2008, there is an option other than allowing the tree to decompose in the landfill. Instead, discarded Christmas trees can be turned into mulch by the annual Grinding of the Greens, offered in Horry County and Florence.
