LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Thanks for all who helped raise funds

We would like to take this opportunity to give thanks to Queenie’s Helping Hand Ministry for its support of the PDCAP Weed and Seed Program.

Mrs. Queen Frierson, the president, worked long, hard and unselfishly to ensure that enough funds were raised to help us help the children in the community.

She and the committee hosted a banquet at the National Guard Armory with the keynote speaker, Dr. John Keith.

Mrs. Juanita Mitchell was on hand for her comedy act and the Rev. Waymon Mumford, County Councilman, presided.

We had some of the greatest singers to entertain us in the beautiful music of faith and many others helped make the program a success. Mrs. Frierson’s goal is to assist us in helping the children who come into our center from all walks of life. Some come from different situations ,but at the Weed and Seed we try to be there for them.

Again, we want to thank Mrs. Queen Frierson and her entire committee and advisory board for the wonderful evening, which resulted in the presentation of funds in the amount of $5,000 to assist with helping the children.

Our special thanks to all of you who participated in any way and may God continue to bless each of you as you have blessed all of us in a mighty special way.
