Betty D. McElveen
GEORGETOWN – Betty Drayton McElveen, 66, widow of Rembert L. McElveen, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008 in a Georgetown hospital.
Mrs. McElveen was born in Georgetown, a daughter of the late Matthew and Mary Ronelle Williams Drayton. After 20 years of service she retired from the Georgetown County School Food Service Division, a member of Friendfield Presbyterian Church and was a graduate of Winyah High School Class of 1960.
Surviving are her children, Janie L. Johnson and Lori (Anthony) Carasea all of Georgetown; grandson, Christian Israel Johnson of Georgetown; brothers, James Matthew Drayton and William Everette Drayton both of Florence; sisters, Jenelle Drayton Fulton of Georgetown, Marilyn Drayton Blake of Greenwood and Carol Drayton Baker of Houston, Texas.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008 in the Chapel of Morris Funeral Home in Hemingway, with burial in High Hill FWB Church Cemetery near Lake City.

Rachel C. Goodwin
COLUMBIA – Rachel Calcutt Goodwin, 65, wife of Richard Goodwin, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2008 at her home.
Mrs. Goodwin was born in Hemingway, a daughter of the late Wallace R. and Corean Poston Calcutt. She was retired from Bell South, a member of Denny Terrace Baptist Church and was a graduate of Hemingway High School.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Goodwin of the home; daughter, Laura Anjanette (Todd) Adams of Pelion, SC; four grandchildren; brothers, Marion (Nancy) Calcutt of Hemingway, Frank (Eileen) Calcutt of Florence and Wayne (Ann) Calcutt of Conway; sisters, Diane (Wendell) Rogers of Florence, Jeanette Knopt of Sumter, Rennie (Ray) Bingham of Kingstree and Fay (Carnell) Poston of Warner Robbins, Georgia.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008 in Poplar Hill FWB Church Cemetery directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway.

Betty Jean H. Robinson
GEORGETOWNBetty Jean Hefner Robinson, 80, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008 from injuries received in an auto accident in Greenville.
Mrs. Robinson was born in Greer, a daughter of the late Roy C. and Leona Lee Hefner. She was an Artist in Excellence of South Carolina Watercolor Society and was a past president of the Tennessee Watercolor Society.
Survivors include her husband, Richard E. Robinson of the home; sons, Mark Richard Robinson of Los Angeles, CA and John Anderson (Sherry) Robinson of Chattanooga, TN; grandson, Sam Robinson of Chattanooga, TN; sister, Nancy Goodson of Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 15, 2008 at Indiantown Presbyterian Church, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway.
Memorials may be made to Indiantown Presbyterian Church, 4865 Hemingway Highway, Hemingway, SC 29554 or a charity of one’s choice.

Douglas L. “Bubba” Cameron
JOHNSONVILLE — Douglas Lawades Bubba Cameron, 67, husband of Oree L. Cameron and widower of Judy Ammons Cameron, passed away Dec. 15, 2008, at the McLeod Hospital, Florence.
Mr. Cameron was born March 18, 1942, in Johnsonville, the son of Benjamin Leroy Cameron and Helena Avant Cameron. He was a painter and was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.
Surviving are: 4 children, Douglas Edward Parker, Judith Ann (Carl) Dennis, Debbie Lynn (Eddie) Richardson, and Samantha Lynn Cameron; one brother, Merrill (Shirley) Cameron; four sisters, Shervy Marsh, Barbara Ann (Edward) Powell, Iris Mae (Homer) Fennell, and Carol Betty Antwine; nine grandchildren, Alvin Barefoot, Robert Patrick Barefoot, Michelle Burns, Patrick ONeal, Christy Burns, Heather Burns, Lewades ONeal, Joseph Steven Pope, Douglas Edward Parker, Jr.
He was predeceased by four sisters: Dorthy Cambell, Meredith Ann Burroughs, Francis Altman, and Margaret Marsh.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at the El Chapman Worship Center with burial in the Garden of Devotion directed by the Hemingway Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.

Annie Gertrude M. Childress-McCutchen
NESMITH — Annie Gertrude Jeep Mobley Childress-McCutchen, 72, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Dec. 15, 2008, at the Tidelands Community Hospice House.
Mrs. McCutchen was born April 25, 1936, in Nesmith, SC, the daughter of John Frank Mobley and Carrie Eva Woodberry Mobley. She was a member of the Nesmith Baptist Church. Jeep spent her life as a strong anchor of hope and faith for her family and friends. Her joyous and witty spirit brought laughter to all around her.
She leaves behind: 4 children, Joseph Samuel (Yvonne) Childress, Jr. of Ireland, Marshal Lee Mark (Julie) Childress of Fayetteville, NC, Jo Anne C. (Ronald) Nesmith of Florence, and Dawn Renee C. (Timmy) Prosser of Nesmith; two sisters, Hazel M. Hughes of Charleston and Rosa M. Dean of Nesmith; 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
She was the widow of William Harley McCutchen.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at the Nesmith Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by the Hemingway Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.

Johnny C. Graham
JOHNSONVILLEJohnny C. Graham, 31, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Mr. Graham was born in Florence, a son of Larry and Doris Christine McDaniel Graham. He worked for Johnsonville Mechanical Contractors, a member of Christian Life Ministries, a Deacon of the church, a Corporal with Johnsonville Fire Department and was a graduate of Johnsonville High School.
Surviving are his wife, Jennifer Lynn Collins Graham; children, Hannah Lynn Graham and Spencer Johnny Graham both of the home; parents Larry and Christine Graham of Johnsonville; brothers, Barry Lee (Abby) Graham and Christopher (Chunky) Graham both of Johnsonville; paternal grandmother, Elma Graham of Johnsonville.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Wilbur Graham; maternal grandparents, Norman and Jean McDaniel.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 19, 2008 in the Chapel of Morris Funeral Home, with burial in the Garden of Devotion Cemetery.
