A Scranton man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a robbery and an assault at a grocery store, Lake City Police Chief Billy Brown said.

Montarrio Leverne Graham, 22, of 398 S. Glendale St. is charged with armed robbery, Florence County Detention Center bookings reports show.

The crime happened Nov. 15 about 11 p.m. when the owner of Hayes Grocery was closing the store for the evening, Brown said. Three men wearing ski masks approached the victim outside the store and one of them hit the owner in the head with a gun.

The suspects fled the scene with the victim’s wallet and an undetermined amount of money, Brown said.

Graham remains in custody at the jail in Effingham awaiting a bond hearing.

More arrests are expected to be made in the case, Brown said.
