Many months of speculation and another week filled with questions as to who would take over what is now Hard Rock Park and now Horry County officials said there was no winning bidder.

Horry County Council Chairperson Liz Gilland said she was informed there was not a successful bidder.

"No one now owns the park, now it's in the hands of the court," Gilland said.

News 13 contacted officials at the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation, and the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism. All of them said they had not heard anything new about the status of the case. They all say they are still waiting to hear an update.

Earlier in the week, Arielle Lapiano, a spokesperson for the Paul Hastings Law Firm representing Hard Rock Park said a judge would announce a decision Thursday afternoon. Today, Lapiano says they could offer no comment to the status of the case.

News 13 also contacted other lawyers involved in the case, and our phone calls went unreturned.
